A ROOM OF OUR OWN: Reading For Health
2pm – 3.30pm, Friday 9th March
Ansdell Library, 59 Commonside, Ansdell, Lancashire. FY8 4DJ
An introduction to the new Bibliotherapy offer from Lancashire Library Service, brought to you by the Arts Partnership for Fylde as part of A ROOM OF OUR OWN, a new events programme for Fylde based creative, culture and heritage practitioners.
Join us for a talk from Lancashire Library Service’s new Bibliotherapy Officer, Deborah Rowe, whose role forms part of Lancashire’s pioneering social prescribing model which offers reading therapy for people of all ages living with mental health and long term physical conditions, including anxiety, depression, phobias and some eating disorders. Joining Deborah, Jill Connolly, Reading and Learning Manager for Lancashire Libraries, will also talk about some of the work she is involved in which ties in with Bibliotherapy and the positive benefits of reading.
The talk will be followed by tea and cakes and an opportunity to talk to Library staff, view the resources and find out how to use the service, as well as book and take part in bibliotherapy sessions in Fylde.
Free to attend, but places are limited. Booking essential.
